Herding on the Web:
Another excellent site with all kinds of information and breed references by fellow herder
Linda Rorem. I've tried to avoid too much overlap.

Research & information on breeds that have the "ivermectin sensitivity" gene. All of these dogs have some ancestry tracing back to a British "collie" in the 1890s or so. Interesting research on the relationships of Aussies, ACDs, Beardies, Collies, Border Collies, English Shepherds & others.

Article in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science on the history & relationships of those breeds with the mdr1 gene. INCLUDES A FAMILY TREE.
French Herding:
In France there are 3 levels. The first one (Niveau I) is for "non professional users" (non breeders). Two results with more than 75% (Excellent) with two different Judges give rights to enter the second level. Second one (Niveau II) (breeders enter this level directly) two results with more than 75% (Excellent) with two different judges are necessary to obtain the "BREVET" (license). With this "Brevet", the individual can enter in the third level (Niveau III). Third level is the selective access to the French "championship".
Here are the French qualifying statistics from 2005 and 2006

currently or both. In the list of breeds below, ancestry can be traced to a herding breed(s) but
